The meeting was called to order by President, Emma Hiscocks, MD. Welcome and introductions were made, with a special mention of scholarship recipients attending the breakfast meeting. There were 18 members in attendance. Roxanne Kuns, Executive Director, was also present.
Dr. Hiscocks invited Dr. Gregory Lewis to join her at the front of the room in order to present him with the 2023 President’s Plaque. She thanked him for his leadership throughout the year and members gave applause to express their thanks.
The June 8th LAAFP Member & Guest Meeting Minutes were presented as printed in the Agenda. Dr. Hiscocks made the motion for the minutes to be approved. It was moved and seconded. There was no discussion and the report was unanimously approved.
Secretary-Treasurer, Cynthia Chen-Joea, MD presented the January – July, 2024 Treasurer’s Report. She offered the motion to accept the report as printed in the Agenda. The motion was moved and seconded. There was a brief discussion in the form of a clarification and the financial report was unanimously accepted.
The nominating committee report for 2025 was printed in the Agenda. The floor was open for new nominees to be presented. There were no names offered so the nominations were closed.
For new business, the members were asked to take note of the last business meeting of the year: November 9, 2024, 11:30 am-2:30 pm at Descanso Gardens. There will be a delicious lunch, a brief business meeting and a CME presentation on Reproductive Health.
