The meeting was called to order by President, Gregory Lewis, MD, who welcomed 26 members and guests. Each person was asked to introduce themselves. Roxanne Kuns, Executive Director, was also present. All names have been placed on record.
Dr. Lewis asked for approval of the minutes to the Member & Guest Dinner held on May 20, 2023, at Think Café in San Pedro CA. It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes as printed in the July Newsletter and in the meeting agenda. The minutes were unanimously approved.
Dr. Stacey Lugwig presented the January – July 31, 2023 Treasurer’s Report. It was moved and seconded to accept the report as printed in the agenda.
The Nominating Committee Report as printed in the July Newsletter and in the agenda was presented by Dr. Lewis. Due to the official adoption of the new Bylaws which opened a resident and medical student position on the 2024 Executive Board, the following nominations were made from the floor:
Resident Nominees: Amir Nader Bahmani, MD; Soomin Jung, MD
Medical Student Nominees: Kelvin Alexis Alvarez; Ernie Rodriguez
The new business announced the upcoming LAAFP Member & Family Event at Parkers’ Lighthouse on November 11, 11:30 – 1:30 pm, with special guest. Dr. Raul Ayala, CAFP President 2023-2024.
The meeting was adjourned.
A special committee meeting was convened with volunteers who were interested in planning a community event for the homeless.
