The Huntington Library, Art Gallery & Botanical Gardens
The meeting was called to order by President, Monique George, MD. Fourteen members were in attendance; all names are on record. Roxanne Kuns, Executive Director, was also present.
Dr. George welcomed those in attendance, expressing how wonderful it was to see everyone in person.
Dr. George asked for a motion to accept the minutes to the ZOOM Member Pre-AMAM Dinner Caucus held on May 12, 2021, as printed in the August Newsletter and in the Agenda. The motion was moved and seconded. The minutes were approved by unanimous vote.
Dr. Emma Hiscocks introduced the January 1 – August 31, 2021, Treasurer’s Report as printed in the Agenda. After a general discussion, a motion was moved and seconded to accept the report as presented, followed by a unanimous acceptance vote.
The 2021 Nominating Committee Report was presented as printed in the August Newsletter and in the Agenda. Dr. George opened the floor for nominations. Dr. Phillip Brown and Dr. Catherine Khoo volunteered to be nominated for the two available positions on the Alternate-Delegate slate for 2022. The Report and the new nominees were accepted as presented.
New business was introduced:
1) Plans are in the works for an in-person 2022 Family Medicine Clinical Forum, April 22 – 24. Watch for updates on the familydocs.org website.
2) 2022 CAFP awards nominations are due by February 1, 2022. Nomination forms will be available on the website later in 2021. For award nominations questions, please email cafp@familydocs.org
Dr. George opened a discussion on the topic of the next LAAFP meeting. It is to be held in early-to-mid November or December. Due to the size of LA County, the discussion centered around having multiple venues as well as inviting members to join by ZOOM.
